To mark this year's UN International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (IDEVAW), and the #16DaysOfActivism that follows, our very own Trustee, the Rt Revd Lusa Nsenga-Ngoy, will be leading a group of male cyclists across London to:
Highlight the responsibilities men bear in ending all forms of male violence against women and girls, and
To raise crucial funds needed for a brand new women's therapy unit at a nia women's refuge in London.
Literally becoming the #BishopOnABike, Lusa's action follows the ITV documentary, Her Majesty The Queen: Behind Closed Doors, which aired on Monday 11th November 2024, and in which the queen called to the nation to “get talking about [domestic violence]…and hopefully, in the end, put an end to it”.
The all-male riding team will launch their 18-mile journey at 9am on Friday 29th November from St Mary’s Church in Willesden, London, home to a rare thirteenth-century Black Madonna.
The ride will proceed to stop at iconic London landmarks, including the Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace, and conclude at Greenwich Observatory, in honour of The Star Outside My Window: a children's book written by our founder, Onjali Q Raúf, which tackles Domestic Violence from the eyes of a child.
Follow the Bishop's journey on Instagram and X via the hashtag #LetHerBe, spread The Words, and help us raise the funds needed to give women survivors of abuse and trafficking finally be gifted a safe, beautiful place of healing...
